We’re proud to announce the release of our inspirational Start Making series of videos, showcasing the Novation Launchpad Pro and its bundled software as the quickest and easiest way to get hands-on with Ableton Live.

Using nothing but a laptop, the Launchpad Pro, the software and samples that come with it, and an iPhone for recording, each of the four Start Making videos blasts through the production of a fully realised track idea in a particular genre: house, techno, trap and drum ’n’ bass.

With Ableton Live Lite as his central DAW, our intrepid urban producer captures all manner of found and environmental sounds in his flat and on the streets of London, then turns them into beats, basslines, melodics and FX. Everything from a fried breakfast, a doorbell and a washing machine, to a skateboard accident, a police siren and a car horn is sampled for manipulation, processing, triggering and sequencing in Live Lite via the Launchpad Pro – and the end results are truly spectacular.
