The keyboard is a high-end Italian key-mechanism with assignable aftertouch, which allows for expressive playing styles. The trigger pads are 'soft feel' and velocity sensitive for assembling beats and samples.

As well as 8 knobs (continuous rotary encoders) there are 8 assignable LED-lit buttons and the transport section can be unlocked to create a further 6 assignable buttons. The trigger pads can also be freely assigned as can any additional expression/sustain pedals.

Although it has 8 knobs and 8 buttons, you can move between different 'pages' of controls. This means you can have almost limitless numbers of things in your software, assigned to Nocturn Keyboard's controls.

The 9th 'Speed Dial' knob is found on Novation controllers. It allows you to take instant control of anything that your mouse/cursor is positioned over. So you can get your hands onto any software parameter without any assigning at all!
